P240V – Half Dome at Sunset – Diving Board, Yosemite National Park, CA

I've been to this location twice over the years. It's a very difficult location to get to as there is no trail for the more difficult portion. You have to know where to jump the real trail and go cross country. On this particular trip (my second), I decided to spend a couple nights on this ledge as I wanted to do both sunset photos and night exposures. The second night displayed this amazing deep orange sunset glow. You could literally watch the shadow (currently at the lower portion of the face) creep up as the sun was setting behind the western mountains.
