P137H – Harbour Bridge at Sunrise – Sydney, Australia
For six months I lived and worked in Sydney, Australia (actually around Milsons Point just across this bridge from the heart of Sydney). A view of this bridge and the city is what I saw every day from my office window. I often walked around the area before and after work to find unique spots where I could capture cityscape photographs. Needless to say, I made countless photographs of the Sydney area, of which many are posted on this site.
This photograph, taken at sunrise, is one of my favorites. The undersides of the clouds turned orange, yellow and pink, and with the water relatively calm, those colors reflected nicely. Although shooting into the sun has a tendency for the foreground to become more like a silhouette, just enough light reached the buildings so they would contain some detail.
